Shvili opens first licensed UAE venue in DIFC
Shvili has opened in DIFC. Caterer Middle East reported on 27 September 2026 that the Georgian restaurant is now in Gate District as its first licensed UAE venue. Big tables. Shareable plates. Khachapuri fresh from the oven. Handmade khinkali. Georgian wine in the middle of Dubai's business district.
This is not another polished room that sells capacity and a view. It sells the feeling of gathering. Food at the centre. A table that turns a weekday lunch or a Friday dinner into something you remember.
Gate District and a licensed DIFC table
Shvili sits at Gate District Precinct Building 03, Level 2, DIFC. Hashtag Dubai lists the room open daily from 8.00 AM to 10.00 PM, with bookings through shvili.ae and Instagram @shvili.ae. Parking is noted at Gate District 2. That helps buyers briefing a team lunch, an after-work table that should feel warm, or a weekend Georgian feast that needs one clear DIFC story.
Caterer Middle East places Shvili inside Tigrus Restaurant Holding, which operates nearly 80 restaurants globally. Founder Henrik Winther says Georgian hospitality begins with making every guest feel welcome and putting good food at the centre of the table. He wants people to return for lunch with colleagues, dinner with friends, or a family meal at the weekend. Founded in 2016, the brand now has 33 locations across five countries. Other UAE rooms sit at Dubai Hills Mall, Dubai Festival City Mall, Palm Jumeirah Mall, Circle Mall, and Galleria Mall Abu Dhabi. DIFC is the first licensed chapter.
The emotional problem this room solves is simple. Plenty of DIFC briefs stall between a loud after-work bar that cannot hold a proper meal and a hotel dining script with no soul. Shvili sells the bridge. Share the plates. Pass the bread. Let the wine and the conversation do the work.
Shareable plates and the Georgian table
Caterer Middle East and Hashtag Dubai both put shareable plates at the centre of the story. Freshly baked khachapuri, the cheese-filled Georgian bread. Khinkali, handmade dumplings filled with seasoned meat and broth. Georgian appetiser plates. Dishes cooked and served in traditional ketsi clay pans. Grilled meats and vegetarian options. A curated selection of Georgian wines.
Nomme magazine, writing on 28 September, frames the supra, the traditional Georgian feast, as a social occasion built around generous plates, conversation, wine, and time at the table. That is the feeling buyers are actually buying when they need a DIFC dinner that feels like people, not a spreadsheet.
Sellers reading the floor hear kitchen craft that can hold dumplings, bread, clay-pan dishes, and grill. Hosts who keep warmth without losing the table. Talent who know when the room wants a quiet lunch and when a long table needs energy.
Weekday offers that help the brief
Hashtag Dubai lists practical hooks planners can brief without inventing numbers. Unlimited Khinkali Wednesdays at AED 149 from 5.00 PM to 10.00 PM, with three glasses of wine. Georgian cooking masterclasses at AED 199 every Thursday at either 6pm or 8pm, with three glasses of wine. Weekend brunch from AED 149 for food only, AED 199 with four glasses of wine, or AED 259 with six selected wines and cocktails, with children under 10 dining free at one child complimentary per paying adult. After-work cocktails at AED 50 from 5.00 PM to 8.00 PM.
Those numbers come from the press note. They help a buyer lock a Wednesday dumpling night, a Thursday masterclass, or a weekend brunch with a kids line already written in.
What this means for Kattegat buyers and sellers
Buyers, start with the feeling you want, not a capacity cell. DIFC. Gate District. Shvili. When the brief is a team lunch that should feel generous, an after-work table with Georgian wine, or a weekend feast built around khachapuri and khinkali, you now have a room that is named and a doors-open date that is already live.
Sellers, read the floor. Breakfast into lunch from 8.00 AM. Shareable service through the day. Clay-pan and dumpling craft. Hosts who keep the table warm while DIFC turns over. That is work for kitchen teams who can hold Georgian plates, floor talent who can carry a long lunch into dinner, and planners who need one clear Gate District story instead of a spreadsheet with no soul.
Kattegat sits in the middle. Venues need people who show up. Talent needs rooms that book. Planners need one place where both sides tell the story straight.
We did not invent Dubai hospitality. We turned the trade we already live into a system buyers and sellers can run from the pocket. Days like Shvili in DIFC are why the marketplace exists.
Book the table, brief the set
If you are locking a DIFC team lunch, an after-work Georgian table, or talent for a room that already holds shareable energy, start with the feeling and the set, not capacity alone.
