Em Sherif Sea Café hires for Dubai Harbour opening
Em Sherif Sea Café is hiring chefs, managers and a bar lead for Dubai Harbour, opening February 2027. Why the job ad is where every room begins.
Em Sherif Sea Café is hiring in Dubai, months before its doors open at The Anchor, Dubai Harbour, in February 2027. Caterer Middle East reported on 9 October that operator 7 Management is recruiting across kitchen, operations and front of house, from head chef and pastry chef to butcher, chefs de partie, restaurant manager, floor managers and bar manager. The Lebanese Mediterranean seafood brand already runs rooms in Beirut, Manama, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, and Dubai Harbour is next.
The room starts with a job ad
Most people meet a restaurant on opening night. The lights are right, the tiles are clean, the fish is on ice. Nobody at the table thinks about the morning, four months earlier, when someone opened LinkedIn and read a list of roles.
That is where this story really starts. Somewhere in Dubai right now there is a chef de partie on a split shift, phone in hand on a break by the back door. She has cooked seafood for years. She reads the line asking for seafood experience, Oriental cuisine and fine dining, and she thinks, that is me.
She is the hero of this news, not the brand. Every great room in this city was built by people who saw an ad like this and decided to move.
What the ad actually asks for
Caterer Middle East quoted the advert plainly. Seafood experience. Experience in Oriental cuisine and fine dining. A good command of English. Strong leadership and communication skills.
Read that again as a buyer, not a cook. It tells you what the room will feel like before a single plate goes out. A butcher on the list means they want control over what comes in. A pastry chef means dessert is not an afterthought. A bar manager and floor managers mean the evening is meant to last.
Brands do not say much before opening. Their hiring says the rest.
Em Sherif Sea Café, Dubai Harbour, in context
The Anchor at Dubai Harbour puts this room by the water, which suits a menu inspired by Lebanese coastal cooking. The brand describes its Sea Café as a place where land and sea meet, and the photos from its existing rooms show blue and white tiles, rope ceilings and warm hanging lights.
February 2027 is a long way off in restaurant time. That gap is the point. The people who will run this room are being chosen now, and the ones who get chosen are usually the ones who are easy to find and easy to trust.
What this means for Kattegat buyers and sellers
If you sell your skills in hospitality, this is your reminder that the best rooms recruit early and quietly. The head chef, the bar manager, the floor lead who knows how to calm a full Friday. Those people are hired on reputation, on who has seen their work, on a profile that tells a real story. Put yours where operators are looking. Show the services you deliver, the rooms you have run, the events you have pulled off.
If you are a buyer, planning a client dinner or a family celebration for early next year, keep this room on your list and watch who joins it. The team is the menu before the menu exists.
And if you are an operator, Kattegat is the system where your next hire, your next musician, your next event planner is already standing, profile ready. We did not build it to replace the job ad. We built it so the chef by the back door has somewhere to be seen.
I keep coming back to that chef de partie. In February she might be plating grilled fish at Dubai Harbour, looking out at the water, and nobody at the table will know she found the job on a break. That is fine. We will know.
